1s' Geography Field Trip to Dorset
1s' Geography Field Trip
The 1s, accompanied by Mr Hills, Mr Stanton and Miss Ruttley spent an invigorating few days at The Old Malthouse in Dorset, carrying out their Geography Fieldwork.
Unusually for November, the weather was perfect, being bright, sunny and reasonably warm. Although there was a lot of walking involved along the Dorset cliff line there were few complaints as we took in the breathtaking views and more importantly the geographical features. During the visit we visited Old Harry Rocks, Lulworth Cove, Durdle Door and Durston Castle.
Various investigations were carried out in Lulworth Cove looking at beach gradient and pebble size and wave action.
As always the staff at The Old Malthouse were excellent, which only added to the whole experience. Both accommodation and food were fantastic and a great time was had by everyone. Roll on next year! TH
