Carols and a surprise visitor!

Carols in the Hall and....guess who's visit?!
The 3s, 4s, 5s & 6s - along with quite a few parents, grandparents and staff - gathered for the traditional carol singing in the Front Hall. With Mr Coppack on the keyboard, we all joined in with some of the old favourites - 'Little Donkey', 'Silent Night' and 'Jingle Bells' among them. Even Bluebell joined us, though she kept any doggy barks for another occasion! Then Mr Moore proved his hearing was rather better than many of us as he alerted us to the sound of someone at the front door.... Was it? Could it be? It WAS! With a yo-ho-ho and the ringing of a bell Father Christmas arrived. He was quickly given a seat after his long journey and listened as one last carol was sung. He asked the children for their wish list for Christmas before giving each child a chocolate to keep them going till the big day and their hopes of Kindles, iPads (or was it Pods?) and other electronic gadgets. We waved goodbye to our visitor remarking that his beard was even thicker than last year, then gathered in the Library for refreshments before heading to the landing or home for bed. Come again, please, next year if you can spare the time, Father C!
