Ashdown House, Forest Row, East Sussex RH18 5JY
Within 30 minutes from Gatwick and one hour from south-west London and Heathrow, Ashdown House is well located for those living in the south-east. London or overseas.
The most popular route from London takes you on the A3 from Putney/Kingston onto the M25. Once on the M25, follow signs to Gatwick, taking the M23 south. On the M23 come off at junction 10 signposted to East Grinstead. Follow this road through Copthorne and Felbridge, eventually joining the A22 heading south towards East Grinstead, Forest Row and Uckfield. Upon reaching Forest Row, you will pass a garage and Tescos Express on your right hand side. Continue over the first mini roundabout. Almost immediately after, you will meet a second mini roundabout. Turn left onto the Hartfield Road signposted to Tunbridge Wells, Hartfield and Groombridge. Continue for a mile through traffic calming systems. After the final one, you will pass a new development of houses on your left hand side. Turn left down a narrow lane and over a hump backed bridge. Continue on this road for half a mile until you see the school on your right hand side.
From Tunbridge Wells:
Take the B2110 through Groombridge, Hartfield and Colemans Hatch towards Forest Row and East Grinstead. Colemans Hatch church is on a sharp right hand bend and the school drive is exactly one mile from the church on the right hand side of the road immediately after a very sharp left hand bend (signal before you go round the bend!). If you get to a traffic calming ‘pinchpoint’ you have gone about 50 metres too far.
A route less likely to have any hold ups (certainly once off the M25….)
Junction 6 of M25, then A25 to Oxted (and towards Westerham/Sevenoaks). Go past Oxted and take B269 to Edenbridge (it becomes the B2026 at Crockham Hill ). Keep going on same road for about 5 (?) miles past Edenbridge and you will come to a junction with A 264; turn left and then immediately right. Follow that road to junction (about 2-3 miles) where you turn right (in effect straight ahead) onto the B2110. Go through Hartfield and keep on that road for about 2 miles when you come to Coleman’s Hatch. Colemans Hatch church is on a sharp right hand bend and the school drive is exactly one mile from the church on the right hand side of the road immediately after a very sharp left hand bend (signal before you go round the bend!).
